 LTC / FID Permits

 Until Further Notice: All LTC/FID application must be done by mail.

Anyone renewing a license should plan on renewing it 3-6 months prior to the expiration of the license.

Go to the link below, print out the form, fill out the form and sign it.

We will process the application or renewal upon receipt in the mail and call you with any questions or issues.
We will mail you a receipt.
Massachusetts Resident LTC/FID/Machine Gun Application     

Mail the completed form along with $100 cash or check made payable to the town you live in. 

If you are over 70 years old, your license is free unless it is a new license.

New LTC applicants must provide a copy of their Handgun Safety course certificate.
New FID Applicants must provide a copy of their Basic Hunter Safety course card.

Any LTC/FID questions should be posed to Lieutenant Landine. 

 We will post on our Facebook account and at the police station the hours for one Saturday a month for walk-in applications. During those Saturday hours, no appointment is needed.  You will need to go to the New Braintree Police Station.

Automobile Accident Forms 
If you are involved in a motor vehicle crash, you must report it to the police department immediately.
You are required to submit an accident report to the Police Department and the Registry of Motor Vehicles within five days.
Mail or hand deliver one copy to the local police department in the city or town where the crash occurred.
Mail one copy to your insurance agency.
Mail one copy to the RMV.

Citizen Complaint Process
The goal of the Hardwick / New Braintree Police Department is to improve the quality of services provided, to promote a high level of public confidence, and to enhance and maintain the professional integrity of the Police Department. A formal procedure to receive, document, and investigate all citizen complaints allows the Hardwick / New Braintree Police Department to monitor and enforce standards.
