November 3, 2020 Presidential Election:   Records for voting were broken in the Town of New Braintree!  Out of 782 registered voters, 675 ballots were cast - 86.32% of the voters cast ballots!!     Unofficial election results may be viewed here.

Christmas in New Braintree Postponed

Unfortunately, due to the social distancing requirements with the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual Christmas in New Braintree Craft Fair will not be held in December, 2020.  Next year's fair will take place on Saturday, December 11, 2021.  

 

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY - The Select Board has officially declared a state of emergency for the Town of New Braintree due to the COVID-19 virus. ALL town buildings are closed to the public starting immediately.  Important updates:

 

  • The Selectboard office is closed to the public.  If you need to contact the office, please email:  selectboard@newbraintree.org or call (508)867-2071.  Kristen Thacker, Executive Secretary to the Selectboard, has limited hours in the office.  
  • The Town Clerk is available by appointment.  Please email:  townclerk@newbraintree.org or leave a message at (508)867-2071, ext. 102.  Messages are checked on a daily basis.
  • The Tax Collector is available by appointment.  Please email:  taxcollector@newbraintree.org or leave a message at (508)867-2071, ext. 106.  Messages are checked on a daily basis.  You can leave tax bills in the outside drop box.  
  • All meetings have been postponed.

  •  A new health care tool has just been released - Buoy Health.  This is accessible   at buoy.com/mass. This website will give you the opportunity to check your symptoms and   connect with the next appropriate health care resource.  This tool does not replace emergency   medical care; however, it can be used as support for residents during the COVID-19 outbreak   without having to connect in person with a health-care provider.  This is a 24/7 tool that is free   for Massachusetts residents and uses current COVID-19 guidance from the CDC and Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

New Braintree is a beautiful, rural, agricultural community of about 1000 residents located in central Massachusetts.  We are privileged to live in a town which embraces our agricultural heritage.  Here you will find one of the last dairy farms in the county, alongside acres of vegetable gardens, a peach and apple orchard, a red deer herd, many beef cattle and the best blueberries in the area.
