Nomination papers are now available in the Town Clerk’s Office for the following offices up for election at the Annual Town Election to be held on Monday, May 4, 2026:  Selectman for 3 years; Assessor for 3 years; Treasurer for 3 years; Town Clerk for 3 years; Auditor for 3 years; Finance Committee for 2 years due to a vacancy; Finance Committee for 1 year due to a vacancy; Finance Committee for 3 years; Library Trustee for 3 years (2); Cemetery Commissioner for 3 years; Board of Health for 3 years; Planning Board for 5 years; Constable for 3 years

2026 Dog Licenses Are Now Available

Dog licenses for 2026 are now available.  Dog licenses expire on March 31st and are renewable on or before April 1st for 2026.  Please be aware that with the implementation of Ollie's Law, all kennels will be inspected on an annual basis.   Kennels are defined as keeping MORE THAN FOUR (4) DOGS, whether for breeding, boarding or PERSONAL use.   To apply for a kennel license, please contact the Town Clerk's at townclerk@newbraintree.gov or by phone at (508)867-2071, ext. 102.     Dog Licenses are available in the Town Clerk's Office.  Dog license forms may be downloaded HERE

Dog License Fees are as follows:  Intact Male/Female:      $10.00
                                                           Spayed/Neutered:        $ 6.00

A late fee of $10 per dog will be implemented effective July 1st.  An additional late fee of $25 will be implemented for any unlicensed dog.

If returning the license form by mail, please include current proof of rabies vaccination, licensing fee, and a SELF-ADDRESSED, STAMPED ENVELOPE for return of the license.  Otherwise, licenses will be available during regular office hours.

ADU Bylaw Overview and Draft Proposal

An Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) is a self-contained housing unit, inclusive of sleeping, cooking, and sanitary facilities on the same Lot as a Principal Dwelling.  
The Bylaw Review committee is working on a new bylaw for the town which will help shape the future of units in our town as well as units available as short term leases.
